Frequently asked questions.
What can I expect from therapy?
Therapy at our practice is about being reflective an honest about your reality — about what’s working, what’s not, and what’s shaped the way you move through the world. We don’t just focus on symptoms. We look at your relationships, your identity, your history, and the systems you're part of. Whether you’re coming in on your own, with a partner, or as a family, we work to understand what actually matters to you. It’s not about fixing you — it’s about making space for clarity, connection, and change on your terms.
How do I know if I’m a good fit?
If you’re looking for therapy that’s honest, relational, and rooted in who you are — not just what you’re struggling with — we might be a good fit. Clients who work well with us are usually open to reflection, willing to explore both personal and systemic patterns, and ready for real, sometimes uncomfortable growth. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to talk it through and help you figure out what kind of support feels right for you.
What’s the difference between license type and student therapists?
Licensed therapists have completed all training and supervision requirements and can practice independently. Associate therapists are fully trained and working toward independent licensure under supervision. Student therapists are advanced graduate students seeing clients as part of their clinical training, with close oversight. Everyone on our team is well-supported, supervised, and committed to providing thoughtful, high-quality care.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. We’re in-network with UnitedHealthcare (UHC), Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Curative, and Aetna. We also accept Cigna and UHC Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).
If you're using insurance, we’ll confirm your coverage before you begin so you know what to expect. If we’re not in-network with your plan, we can provide a superbill you can submit for possible reimbursement.
Insurance can be confusing — we’re happy to walk you through your options and help you understand what’s covered and what isn’t.
What’s your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you cancel late or don’t show up, there is a $100 fee. This policy helps us keep your spot open and respect the time set aside for your care.
