Dr. Megan Chapman, LMFT

Dr. Chapman specializes in working with families struggling to transition to new phases of life, family estrangement and reconnection, and adoption and foster care. She also specializes in couples’ issues, such as communication, culture and family identity, and relationship wounds and repair. When working with individuals, Dr. Chapman specializes in anxiety, life transitions, identity and culture, and relationship challenges.

Dr. Chapman has completed the Level I Gottman training, has specialized training in therapeutic parenting and Parenting in SPACE. Her experience and training have focused on systemic problems, individual and family identity development. Dr. Chapman utilizes a direct, solution-focused approach rooted in systems theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Experiential therapy. Her hope for her clients is to live intentional, value-based lives that simply feels good.

Dr. Chapman earned a Bachelor of Art in Psychology and Public Relations from Coe College (2013), Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mt. Mercy University (2016), and a PhD in Couple and Family Therapy from Adler University (2020). She has worked in private practice and community mental health and has served as a supervisor. She has also worked in utilization management, field and academic research, and teaching. Dr. Chapman is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) in Arizona and Iowa.
